Often however the technical will only focus on the basic viability of the device to function as performed and the commecial on the financial viability of the company in question.  True market success is not however not based solely on the ability of the device or product to perform its intended function.

As we have shown, an early focus on reliability and maintainability for example will greatly enhance the chance of success in the marketplace. Equally, if the company does not possess robust internal processes this success may never be achieved.
